About Us

Planet Ecotech

Planet Ecotech is focussed on regions where waste plastic is a real and growing problem; with South Asia being a prime example. Due to Planet Ecotech’s technology, plastic is removed from the eco-system. Raw materials are saved and CO₂ is significantly reduced, resulting in the qualification for plastic and carbon credits.

Our History

The idea of developing a solution to address non-recyclable waste plastic originated over four years ago. Driven by the need to tackle this environmental challenge, the inventor created an innovative process and collaborated with various companies to carry out the necessary R&D. This work led to the development, validation, and construction of the equipment required to integrate waste plastic into concrete production.

Our focus in planet ecotech

Geographic focus

Initially, the Company will focus on the following key regions: Bangladesh and India, which have embryonic recycling programs. Collectively, these regions produce nearly 80 million tonnes of mismanaged plastic annually, making them some of the largest untapped markets for recycling interventions and sustainable materials.

Bangladesh

Bangladesh, where the Company has three contracts, generates over 1.27m tonnes of waste plastic per year, of which only 27% is currently recycled. Decades of plastic mismanagement mean millions more tonnes of waste plastic have already accumulated in waterways and streets, ensuring a consistent supply of raw material. The demand for concrete is expected to increase by 17% by 2027, driven by urbanisation and a growing middle class. The government’s focus on waste management and net-zero targets, combined with the low cost of plastic collection and the strong carbon and plastic credit potential tied to global sustainability market demand, makes Bangladesh a prime target location for the Company.

India

Expansion into India is planned as it is the world’s largest plastic polluter, generating 9.3m tonnes of waste plastic annually with 3.5m tonnes mismanaged and 5.8m tonnes incinerated. This market presents substantial opportunities for scaling operations, carbon credit generation, and integrating sustainable materials into the growing construction demand.
